Great talk from John Del Vecchio and Tom Jacobs of the Motley Fool detailing some insights into the financial markets. Some take aways are:
- Cash/Equity/Bond positions and historically what has happened when they fluctuate
- Capital distribution
- Picking companies which go down 30% is far easier then picking the ones that go up 30% – much lower rate of success then to failure.
Paul Levy gives a great talk at Google based on examples from his book Goal Play. Anybody in a leadership role should watch this and I particularly like his example of normalisation of deviance.
A very interesting presentation from Leah Buechley from MIT on paper based electronics using conductive ink. I believe this could be used in future packaging for smart notifications when products are running low.
This should be LOVEFiLM’s latest ad – I wonder how many of these titles are available to stream

Really clever metaphor use of the social geo-location tools to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS
An interesting Ted presentation from Ryan Markley on the Mozilla’s Popcorn project which allows video producers to create a more layered playback experience. It will be interesting to see how people evolve this toolset for commerce.
