A really interesting look into the value of Facebook advertising and the estimated value of likes for your brand. It appears that the people who are paid to “like” brands are causing a real problem with engagement of actual fans. Draw you own conclusions here but it is a real eye opener if you are considering using Facebook advertising.
I really like this designer drugs graphic concept I saw via Fubiz by LA based artist Desire Obtain Cherish who attended Parsons School of Design
A really cool collage of films from 2012 created by “Gen Rocks”. It reminds me of one I posted earlier however the audio in this one was fantastically compiled. I would be recruiting these guys to create advertising for LOVEFiLM, Amazon Instant Video, NETFLIX, Now TV….
This should be LOVEFiLM’s latest ad – I wonder how many of these titles are available to stream
Really clever metaphor use of the social geo-location tools to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS
An interesting Ted presentation from Ryan Markley on the Mozilla’s Popcorn project which allows video producers to create a more layered playback experience. It will be interesting to see how people evolve this toolset for commerce.
A good discussion with Tim Ferris and Jack Canfield on writing and marketing.
TorrentFreak are running a great story about the republicans running banner ads on The Pirate Bay!
I was on the Heathrow Express twice in the past few months and noticed a stream of video billboards creating an animation as we flew past them. The billboards are placed in tunnels so when the train goes into darkness they are quite effective, however I can’t recall any of the ads, just the technology! Tanya sent me a link to a company video on YouTube here.
According to Marketing Magazine, Nintendo are partnering with ITV’s Anc and Dec which effectively means TV advertising and promotion. Whats interesting here is that Nintendo UK particularly strict about collaborating with other brands when I have worked with them. Rather then the XBox and Sony models which are more open to other brands exploiting their IP within the respective companies offerings, Nintendo are only interested in integration and endorsements with their own products, if that happens to work for other companies and brands then all is good but they don’t have a platform with allows others to find opportunities to execute and exploit.
