I found this beautifully made site which details the current legal status of Bitcoin in each country. I would not count on the accuracy of the service for making any investment decisions but its a decent starting point. Check it out here

I discovered this data brokerage service from GNIP which offers complete access to data sets from Twitter, Tumblr, Foresquare, WordPress and more, it also offers a partial service for companies like Facebook, Flickr, Instagram. I am not sure of the pricing model however it looks promising for large scale data mining. Check it out here

Oculus

I think the Oculus Rift VR headset has really made big improvements in the VR space. One of the key things it has solved is motion blur which caused discomfort for users previously. They have a developers SDK and kit which I am tempted to run some tests with. I see some interesting applications for interactive storytelling and also training specific skills. Oculus website here and some info about its potential from Wired here

Sony’s SmartBand seems quite versatile and a decent competitor to FitBit and the JawboneUP. It will be interesting to see how this goes and also if they add iOS support soon.

With all the wearables showing up at CES this wear I found this tiny Arduino board called SquareWear which will enable you to create some interesting experiments. It has some built in sensors like temperature and light.

A great reflection here by Jonathan Harris on his navigation through various stages of getting stuck. Harris has created some amazing projects ( We Feel Fine & I Want You To Want Me ) over the years and its interesting to see his view on why he created them and how he now feels about them.

This is an interesting product due to launch soon which places a sensor on the ankle for tracking movement and impact. They also have a SDK available to use the product for other items.

The Mailbox iPhone app looks pretty interesting which I found via SwissMiss – I am interested to see the rearranging of emails and the delay till later/alarm concepts as this helps divide personal and work time up well.
