An interesting article in Lifehacker about a fault with the Liquid Damage Identifier in Apple products which can give inaccurate results which means you could argue this is not a accurate indication of moisture damage.
While Skype is somewhat of a battery killer it is still quite handy to have on the go and now they have added video calling on the iPhone. I have tried it over wifi and it worked a charm and it claims to work over 3G.
